Summary
BNP Paribas Asset Management announced the listing of four actively-managed exchange-traded funds, positioning them as a next generation of ETF products that go beyond traditional market-capitalisation strategies. The funds are BNP Paribas Easy Equity Premium Income, BNP Paribas Easy European Equity Buffer, BNP Paribas Easy Global Equity Long Short and BNP Paribas Easy Managed Futures. The company said the products draw on a combination of its own asset management infrastructure, structuring and liquidity-monitoring expertise, and the quantitative investment-strategy capability, proprietary modelling and market-structure knowledge of the BNP Paribas Global Markets division.

According to the company, the UCITS ETF universe has expanded rapidly, but most available products are market-cap strategies. BNPP AM argues this creates an opening for solutions addressing diversified return sources, defined outcomes, income generation and long-term stability across market cycles. Robinson Rouchie, Chief Investment Officer – Systematic & Quantitative Investments at BNPP AM, said the suite accelerates investor access to solutions that can improve portfolio diversification and resilience. Vincent Bérard, Head of Funds Solutions – Theam Quant at BNP Paribas Global Markets, said the launch reflects the Group's ability to pool expertise and deliver scalable solutions in an ETF format.

Two of the funds follow absolute-return approaches. BNP Paribas Easy Global Equity Long Short is a model-driven strategy, built on the MSCI Barra multi-factor framework, that takes long positions in securities with strong factor scores and short positions in those with weak scores, while maintaining moderate global equity exposure through synthetic long/short positions and limiting net beta. BNP Paribas Easy Managed Futures seeks medium-term capital growth with moderate volatility through a systematic, diversified long/short basket of futures or forwards across asset classes, with the stated aim of delivering the low correlation and convexity historically associated with commodity trading advisor (CTA) strategies.

The other two funds are income-oriented. BNP Paribas Easy Equity Premium Income seeks income and capital growth by writing options on major equity indices to collect premiums in bullish, stable, orderly or gradually declining markets, a stream the company describes as less sensitive to interest-rate movements than fixed income and typically less volatile than pure equity returns. BNP Paribas Easy European Equity Buffer provides long exposure to the Euro Stoxx 50 index with a predefined level of downside protection and an upside cap, with buffer and cap levels set for a one-year period. BNPP AM describes this structure as suited to capital preservation during accumulation and controlled drawdown management during decumulation.

BNPP AM is the delegated asset manager for the products, and the entry and exit fees are stated as 0%. The ETFs are available on Euronext Paris, Deutsche Börse Xetra and SIX Swiss Exchange. The launch forms part of the company's strategic plan, which targets more than €100bn of net inflows and more than 75 new products by 2030.
